Free Transportation for the Unhoused

Lowcountry Lighthouse aims to provide free rides to approved locations for unhoused residents of Charleston, SC and the surrounding areas. We are active from October 15 until February 15.

You may request 2 rides a month from one of our volunteer Ship Captains to the following places:

job interview

laundromat

post office or library

food bank

government office

warming shelter

Availability is limited, and there is no guarantee a Ship Captain will be available to fulfill your request. If you need to get somewhere that is not on the approved list, please feel free to contact us to explain. Sometimes we can honor special requests.
